FAQ - Land Based

How do I know how many "Prims" something is?

Knowing how many prims an item is, is an important factor of Second Life, wheither you are a land-owner or just renting from someone else. Appearences can be decieving and the small items can be just as "prim-heavy" as the big ones - sometimes more so. It is fairly easy to find out how many prims an item is, right click on the item you wish to check, and select "edit" from the pie-menu, this will bring up a pop-up window for the edit menu's. On the first tab (General tab) about half way down there is an area that will tell you the number of prims. If you can not see this, try clicking the "More" button on your edit menu as it may be that you don't have the full menu open.

How to clean up after yourself

When you are finished with an object you have been opening or working on, it's a good idea to clean it up. It's just good manners, and land owners really appreicate the consideration.

To do this either, right click on the object and select TAKE from the menu - this moves it back into your inventory. Or you can right click it, select "MORE >" from the pie chart and then DELETE to delete the object from Second Life.
